Waiting for the Tide - Original Watercolor Painting

The peninsulas that jut out along the Maine coast are filled with small harbors and coves where fishermen and lobstermen ply their trade. The tide changes by as much as 11 feet, leaving docks high above the water at low tide. This particular scene is from an overcast day on Spruce Head Island near Rockland.
